Which products are best for acne?

Which products are best for acne? | Millionaire Beauty

Our three favourite Millionaire Beauty products for treating and soothing acne are:

Retinol MAX & Melting Magic - these two products used together are absolutely fantastic for treating acne and reducing the scarring caused by spots and breakouts.

Melting Magic has AHAs that get deep into the pores to fade dark spots and acne scars. It draws out oil from the skin and sheds dead cells to prepare skin for the penetrating benefits of retinol. But it's a gentle exfoliator so it's perfect for using on acne-prone skin.

Then retinol MAX stimulates the cells, boosting collagen and rejuvenating the skin. Used together they’re super effective at breaking down pigmentation and acne scarring – brightening and repairing.

Flawless Corrective Serum with Azelaic Acid – a miracle acne reducer. Azelaic Acid is an unbeatable acne saviour and was once only available on prescription.

This fantastic anti-bacterial acne treatment is one of our best sellers in 2020 - you can use it as a mask at night, dab on individual spots to soothe and vanish, or apply as a skin toner in the morning.

Millionaire City Defence contains Vitamin C and niacinamide to brighten, repair and protect acne-prone skin. It's great for acne scarring and it really helps to protect skin from further damage.

City Defence is a light and gentle moisturiser that's been one of our best sellers since we started creating skin care products - it's still selling out in 2020.

What causes acne? Time to dig deep and learn more about your skin.

Hormones called ‘androgens’ act on the oil glands making them increase oil production. This can lead to pores becoming blocked and bacteria can form that causes inflammation and spots.

Acne and acne scarring can be really upsetting. Just as you think you're getting over a breakout, another one can occur. It's important to treat acne topically, to keep you skin super clean and to exfoliate regularly to get real results.

Don't use harsh ingredients - good ingredients for acne and acne scarring include niacinamide, glycolic acid, Vitamin C and retinol. When you’re looking for skin care that works, keep an eye out for these.

Why do some people have acne but not others?

Genetics – this isn’t always the case but acnecan be inherited.

A medical condition – in particular conditions that cause hormonal fluctuations, particularly higher levels of androgen.

Diet – there is some evidence that dairy can cause acne, but certainly food that gives a spike in blood sugar or glucose (for example, pizza, sweets, sugar, soft drinks and white bread) raises the blood glucose levels. This in turn promotes the release of insulin, which increases the production of both sebum and androgen.

Watch your diet

To combat acne, eat plenty of Vitamin C and zinc, avoid sugar and refined carbohydrates. Vegetables and fruit with a low glycaemic index are good – bananas, blueberries, broccoli, mushrooms, and fish high in omega-3 fatty acids.

All our skincare products are UK-made incorporating working active ingredients to get real results. We’ve developed many of them to target specific skincare issues like acne, scarring and pigmentation.
